We are the overall winners in the Urban District area.We have also won a Platinum Award for our efforts in maintaining the appearance of the school.Congratulations and well done to everyone.

Fourth class were involved in a National Spring Clean event on April 29th. They picked litter up along Mill Street, outside the school and also at Seatown Castle.

Pupils are also very aware of the need to conserve water and a 'Tap Dectective' is appointed in every classroom to make sure no taps are left dripping.

Pupils are encouraged to bring healthy lunches to school and also to bring reusable lunch boxes and drink containers in order to cut down on needless packaging.

Pupils are actively involved in recycling and composting in school every day. Please set a good example at home.

Every Wednesday from now until the end of the school year will be a WOW Day (Walk on Wednesday). Please help pupils to walk, cycle, car pool or take the bus to school.

The Clean-up Action Day will be on Friday 8th May when pupils will be involved in keeping the school grounds neat and tidy.

We are having a Low Energy Week from the 11th to 15th May. Pupils will be encouraging/ reminding parents and teachers on ways to save energy, both in school and at home.

It's a W.O.W (Walk on Wednesday) Day on Wednesday the 21st of January 2009. Rain, hail or shine we encourage everyone to walk to and from school on this day. By doing this, we can help reduce the traffic on Mill Street. Mammy and Daddy please join in, without you we cannot win!

Friday 24th October was National Game Playing Day.The children brought board games to school and we are delighted to say that we raised €484 for Our Lady's Childrens Hospital Crumlin.

We have just received a cheque for €320 for all the bags of clothing (105 bags in total) and print cartridges (9 in total). Thanks to everyone.

We collected 45 mobile phones and 7 chargers in aid of the Children of Calcutta appeal.

The children of the environmental committee were interviewed by LMFM.Hilary, Sophie, Shauna and Eoin talked about the Junior Schools activities and achievements to date.Mrs Holland, their teacher, was also interviewed.

We are very proud to be awarded the Green Flag for the third time.
